Diana Ross is an American singer, actress and record producer. She was born on March 26, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan. She is the second-eldest child of Ernestine, a school teacher, and Fred Ross, Sr., a former United States Army Soldier.
Diana Ross rose to fame as a founding member and lead singer of the vocal group The Supremes.
Diana Ross married music executive Robert Ellis Silberstein in January 1971, and they divorced in 1977.
Diana Ross married her second husband, Norwegian billionaire shipping magnate Arne Naess, Jr. in 1986. Diana Ross and Arne Naess, Jr. divorced in 2000. Arne Naess Jr. was killed in a mountain climbing accident in 2004.
Diana Ross is a mother of five children, Rhonda Ross Kendrick (born 1971), Tracee Ellis Ross (born 1972), Chudney Ross (born 1975), Ross Naess (born 1987) and Evan Ross (born 1988).
